Com a proximidade do fim da janela partidária, o cenário político-eleitoral em São Luís começa a se definir para 2024.

Eduardo Braide (PSD) vai em busca da reeleição, enquanto Duarte Júnior (PSB) finca como o nome escolhido pelo Palácio dos Leões. Os dois devem polarizar e reeditar o confronto de 2020.

Por outro lado, como alternativa da 3ª terceira via, Wellington do Curso, vai disputar a eleição pelo Partido Novo e poderá ser a surpresa da eleição.
